Renovation Grants
Dawson Georgia
The Downtown Development Authority (DDA) issued checks for two facade renovation grants in the downtown area.
Two grants were open to downtown property owners and business owners in January 2008. The deadline to apply was March 31.
The grants would provide the property owner or business owner with up to $500 towards facade renovation work for their buildings.
The owner had to invest a total of $1,500 towards the renovation work and then the DDA would reimbuse up to $500.
Van Phillips, owner of True Value Hardware, painted his building and added new signage.
The Better Hometown Task Force (BHTF) added three new awnings to the facade of the Main Street Theatre building.
Both projects have added to the beauty of the downtown area.
While the grants are colosed at this time, the DDA hopes to offer them again this summer.
